Licett Morillo, 21, hailing from the Dominican Republic, had never left her home country until she made her catwalk debut for Prada in Milan last month.

The model, recently made redundant from her job at a plastics factory, was scouted by Nileny Dippton, who runs an academy in Santo Domingo, and landed herself on IMG’s books a month ago, with senior vice president Jeni Rose immediately branding her ‘something special’ and ‘a face you haven’t quite seen before’. Having already garnered praise from Vogue, Morillo made history as the first model of colour to close a presentation for the Italian fashion house.
